Soldiering On Awards

712. Tal Lambert

An officer in the RAF has founded a remarkable awards programme providing recognition to our Armed Forces.

Tal Lambert MBE is the founder and Chair of the Soldiering On Awards, an awards programme that provides national recognition for the outstanding achievements of members of the UK’s Armed Forces.

Tal, a Wing Commander in the RAF, founded the awards in 2011 in order to encourage support for the UK’s Armed Forces community. 2017’s Soldiering On awards sees winners in 10 different categories awarded in a glittering ceremony in Westminster, with a judging panel led by General the Lord Dannatt, former Chief of General Staff. Past award winners have included Dame Vera Lynn and Paralympian Jon-Allan Butterworth.

In a personal letter to Tal, Prime Minister Theresa May said:

“The Soldiering On Awards provide an opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to the members of our Armed Forces that sacrifice so much to keep our country safe.”

Tal said:

“This is a great honour and a direct result of the incredible work carried out by the Soldiering On Awards team who are responsible for providing this support to the Armed Forces Community. I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of this incredible team and in appreciation of the inspirational finalists and Award winners who have been recognised over the past 7 years at the Soldiering On Awards.”

The daily Points of Light award recognises outstanding individual volunteers - people who are making a change in their community.
