Maeed said:

“We live in unprecedented times; the Climate Crisis has struck the paradise I call home. Climate Change is no longer a distant reality, it is very much a current disaster, not only faced by small island nations but it has consequences across the globe. Its implications are severed and irreversible. Without urgent and unprecedented action from all of us from all corners of the planet we cannot survive as a species. Every little action matters. Our actions matter. We must all work towards united actions individually, as groups, as communities and as nations to tackle and avert the climate catastrophe. I call on all fellow volunteers, our leaders and citizens of the world to take bold steps to achieve climate resilience.”

The daily Points of Light award recognises outstanding individual volunteers - people who are making a change in their community.
