Bedazzle Arts

2051. Diane Janssen
2052. Phil Janssen

Diane and Phil Janssen, from Cambridgeshire, run a community theatre company which has given hundreds of young people training opportunities in performing arts, particularly those with special educational needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds.

‘Bedazzle Arts’ was launched in 2006 by actor Diane and art director Phil, who wanted to use their experiences of working in the arts to create unique opportunities for young people in Cambridge and Essex, while offering them high quality performing arts education.

‘Bedazzle Arts’ has taken original shows to the Edinburgh Fringe festival and London’s West End, alongside holding a regular programme of shows and workshops in Cambridgeshire. In Autumn 2023, the company will be launching a programme which aims to accelerate the careers of young creatives by investing funds and production resources to support new art productions.

Diane and Phil said:

“BEDAZZLE is delighted to accept this award, and it has given us the encouragement to continue championing inclusion in the creative arts.”
