Peter also runs a community litter club and throughout the pandemic has provided deliveries of essential items and collections for prescriptions.

In a personal letter to Peter, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said:

“I want to thank you for your service to our nation and now your service to others.

“With your community taxi service for older and vulnerable people, you alleviate the stresses and strains of getting to hospital appointments. You pick people up at their door, you take them to their appointment and you make sure that they get home safely afterwards.

“You also go above and beyond helping older people with their gardens. This is a wonderfully practical way of supporting your fellow Oxfordshire residents.”

The daily Points of Light award recognises outstanding individual volunteers - people who are making a change in their community.
