Lizzy Hall, from Kent, founded ‘The Hygiene Bank’ which has given out £2.5 million worth of donated toiletries such as soap, period products and nappies to families in need.

Over the last year the charity has also gifted 300,000 self-care items to NHS staff.

In a personal letter to Lizzy, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said:

“I would like to thank you for your fantastic initiative ‘The Hygiene Bank’ which has given out an astonishing £2.5 million worth of donated toiletries to families in need.

“On top of this, you have also gifted hundreds of thousands of care parcels to NHS workers and I am lost in admiration for your efforts to show the nation’s appreciation to our key workers for their heroic efforts.”
