Printed By Us

1937. Terry Murphy

Terry Murphy, from Sheffield, runs printing workshops for people who have experienced homelessness through his social enterprise ‘Printed By Us’ to help them gain new skills and employment opportunities.

Individuals print artwork designed by Sheffield based creatives onto items of clothing that are sold in the ‘Printed By Us’ shop, with profits reinvested into further workshops. The organisation has had a positive impact on service users mental well-being, with many in the organisation going into full-time employment, and some coming back to volunteer at the organisation.

Terry said:

“Pleasantly surprised to received the Point of Light award. It’s great to see all the hard work and dedication that my team has put in over the last 6 year recognised by central government. I receive this award of behalf of our whole team, the vast majority of whom has lived experience of homelessness. The way they have embraced the opportunities we have created through screen printing to transform their lives is truly inspirational and it’s a pleasure to play a part in each of their journeys to more fulfilling lives.”
