Sharon has worked closely with food banks in the district to provide new distribution points, as well as running a free Summer Kitchen scheme to give families extra support during the school holidays and to promote healthy, balanced diets for children and young people.

In a personal letter to Sharon, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said:

“I am lost in admiration for your fantastic endeavour to deliver over two thousand free bags of nutritious food every week to support the vulnerable and those who have been isolating in Thanet.

“Our Kitchen” is a wonderful example of the solidarity and community spirit that defines the very best of Britain.”
