One/Third Project

2201. Hannah Walton

Hannah Walton, from Worcestershire, is an #iwill ambassador who founded ‘One/Third Project’, a youth-led organisation that provides access to resources, workshops and mentoring for people aged 16-25 who have faced educational challenges.

Having left school at fourteen due to her mental health, and with a passion for creating equal opportunities for students, Hannah set up the charity in 2021. They lead with mentoring, workshops, and active participation in social action projects, to effectively engage and support the young people that they work with.

Hannah is a regular speaker at events and panel sessions on engaging young people, and earlier this year, Hannah also organised the ‘Lead The Way Youth Summit’ with leading youth speakers, focusing on how young people can engage and collaborate on social action campaigns.

Hannah’s award coincides with #iwillWeek, an annual celebration of the work young people are leading up and down the UK.

Hannah said:

“I am deeply honoured to receive the Points of Light award, and I attribute this recognition to the inspiring young people I have the privilege of working with daily. Their dedication reflects a collective commitment to positive change, and while our work is ongoing, this award brings light to the hard work and dedication of youth advocates everywhere, a cause for which I am truly grateful.”
