Help the Homeless Leicester

1952. Arif Voraji

Arif Voraji, from Leicester, founded ‘Help the Homeless Leicester’, which has supported over 220 people since 2018 to find a permanent address.

Alongside this, Arif also established a foodbank during the pandemic which is being used by more than 200 people on a weekly basis, and every Friday distributes food and home-cooked meals to homeless people in the city centre. Most recently, Arif organised a Jubilee Party where anyone who was homeless or experiencing loneliness could take part in the celebrations.

Arif said:

“I’d like to express a big thank you to whoever nominated me and I’m very grateful that the hard work put in by myself and team has put in over the years is being recognised.”
