Neil is a carer for both his father and brother but alongside this and a part-time job is leading the social enterprise’s “Carer Friendly Communities” initiative, helping to ensure that people are able to access support where needed and improve wellbeing for carers. He also works with GP practices to improve understanding of support for carers, and acts as a key champion for other carers in the wider area, providing peer to peer support.

Neil said:

“I love working with ‘Forward Carers’. As I always say, if I can help another carer then I have achieved my goal. Being an unpaid carer can be challenging but I love working with other carers who I can help to achieve their goal.”
