Jane has dedicated her time to running this volunteer project every year since 2001, raising over £750,000 to date. Last year, over 1200 people attended the fair, which raised in excess of £50,000 for the charity. All proceeds from the ticket sales and 10 per cent of the stallholders’ takings go to Wellbeing of Women, a charity which supports the wellbeing of women and babies through medical research on issues such as premature birth, recurrent miscarriage, endometriosis and gynaecological cancers.

In a personal letter to Jane, Prime Minister Theresa May said:

“Your tireless commitment to the City Christmas Fair, raising funds for ‘Wellbeing of Women’ is truly remarkable. You should feel very proud of this event, which supports the charity in improving the health of women and babies across the UK through its pioneering research.”

Jane said:

“I am deeply honoured to have received this award from the Prime Minister. ‘Wellbeing of Women’ is an amazing charity to work as a volunteer. We research every aspect of women’s health which is so necessary in this world today.”
