Throughout the year, ‘Chicks with Bricks’ holds networking events in London at exclusive venues, bringing together high profile speakers and key industry figures to promote female talent. All profits raised through their events support the Women in the Built Environment Programme run by ‘The Prince’s Trust’, providing opportunities for disadvantaged girls and young women to gain experience and build skills in the construction industry.

Holly received her award from Prime Minister Boris Johnson at an official Downing Street reception to celebrate girls’ education and entrepreneurship.

In a personal letter to Holly, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said:

“I am lost in admiration for remarkable people like yourself who freely give up your time to improve the lives of others.

“I know you do this with no thought of praise or reward, but allow me to offer my own recognition of how, for almost fifteen years, your innovative ‘Chicks with Bricks’ initiative has pioneered and sustained a network of 3,000 women forging careers in the UK’s construction industry.

“Your inspirational efforts have opened up new opportunities to women and girls of all backgrounds and made a substantial contribution to The Prince’s Trust ‘Women in the Built Environment Programme’.”
