Chance to Shine

1831. Asad Butt

Asad Butt, from London, runs the ‘Chance to Shine’ street cricket programme across London which sees hundreds of children from disadvantaged backgrounds take part in weekly cricket sessions.

Through regular cricket sessions, the scheme helps people grow their confidence, engage with supportive adults and divert attention away from anti-social behaviour or crime. Asad and his wife, Bilquis, are also foster carers who have recently fostered Afghan children.
