Supporting the charity Revitalise to provide respite breaks to disabled people and their carers for more than 20 years.

Tim played a leading role in a strategic review of Revitalise in 2014 which saw it return to its core values of providing respite holidays – nearly 5,000 people received breaks supported by nearly 4,000 weeks of volunteering last year.

Tim received his award from Mrs Samantha Cameron at a charity reception she  hosted in 10 Downing Street to celebrate the work of the charity, of which she is Patron.

Regardless of whether it’s a doctor restoring local monuments in her free time, a father teaching young people life skills, or a local musician giving a voice to lonely people, the Point of Light award honours shining examples of volunteering across the UK.

Prime Minister David Cameron said:

“Revitalise is a fantastic charity, the respite breaks it provides are a life-line for the thousands of carers and disabled people it helps every year.  Tim has shown incredible dedication in supporting Revitalise for over 20 years.  He has played a key role in ensuring it continues to deliver its core aim of helping disabled people and their families enjoy some of the simple pleasures many of us take for granted and I am delighted to recognise his service with this Points of Light award.”

“I was bowled over to receive a Points of Light award – from none other than Samantha Cameron! It was a wonderful surprise and one I shall never forget. I accept this award on behalf of the thousands of volunteers each year who give their free time to help Revitalise provide truly transformative experiences for disabled people and carers.”

The daily Points of Light award recognises outstanding individual volunteers - people who are making a change in their community.
